EQUIPMENT TYPES
Modular Pontoons
Pontoons are vital to most marine construction projects. Their appeal lies in their ease of transport, as they can be assembled and disassembled quickly and easily on site. Larger units are typically steel, whereas small units are usually plastic.
Commercial Barges
Commercial barges and flat top pontoons are large floating platforms, often with a crane installed and machinery on the deck and in the hull. This gives them the ability to carry heavy loads and work on large projects at the expense of easy transport from site to site.
Workboats
Workboats is a term that covers a huge variety of vessels. Their purpose is usually to offer floating personnel access and a floating workstation. The archetypal workboat is a 'Multicat', a self-propelled vessel featuring a workdeck and HIAB crane on a Pontoon-type hull.
